Texas Rowing is fully funded by The University of Texas Athletics Department and enjoys a full slate of 20 athletic scholarships. We are extremely fortunate to be a part of such an outstanding athletic department. Our facilities, academic support, pride and tradition are second to none.

Texas Rowing looks for young women who are independent and coachable; women who want to be leaders and are eager to be challenged. Students may be recruited for athletic aid to row on the varsity squad. To be considered for athletic aid, an athlete needs a solid 2,000-meter erg score -- our incoming classes range from 7:05 to 7:25. If an erg score is not at this level, proficiency in small boats and success at prestigious regattas is also considered.

Academics are a key component to recruiting as well. We typically recruit athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA and a SAT score of 1100 (math and verbal) and above.

The Texas Rowing staff encourages you to take a moment to peruse the University's Web site at UTexas.edu. The Web site provides great information about our vast array of majors, the excitement of campus life, our unique city, and the unrivaled excellence of Texas Athletics. Please pay special attention to our Honors program called "Plan II." We have a very large and diverse squad made up of great personalities. Recruits come from every corner of the U.S. as well as Canada, Germany, New Zealand and Croatia. We also have a very large walk-on contingent which gives us a lot of pride and has produced outstanding results nationally.

The University of Texas and the city of Austin are simply outstanding places to study and live.
