Rowing's Arrington earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors

AUSTIN, Texas -- The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have named Texas senior rower Nancy Arrington to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 women's at-large team. Arrington's selection to the first team marks the fourth time a Texas rower has been honored by CoSIDA and the first since 2008. Arrington, a unanimous selection to the Conference USA All-Academic squad, carries a 3.94 GPA in government with a minor in Spanish. She is a seven-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and was a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) South Region Scholar-Athlete in 2007-08. She is a two-time team captain and has led Texas to back-to-back Big 12 Championships in 2009 and 2010. To be nominated for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve on their respective teams with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must reach sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution to be eligible.
