Texas and the South/Central Regionals
The Longhorns have competed in the NCAA Championships the two out of the last three years. In 2003, UT's first varsity eight crew finished fourth in the Varsity 8+ Grand Final at regionals, and earned its first trip to the NCAA Championship in school history - where the Longhorns went on to finish 12th. In 2004 competition, Texas earned its second straight appearances at the NCAA Championship on the strength of a sixth-place finish in South/Central Regional racing. The Longhorns placed 15th at the NCAAs in 2004.

Last Time on the Water
Texas captured the first two novice races of the day and never looked back, winning three of the remaining four races to claim its fifth straight Big 12 Invitational regatta (UT won from 2001-04, with last year's Invitational cancelled due to bad weather). The Invitational took place on Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kan. ... the Longhorns won the Big 12 trophy with 56 total points, followed by Kansas and Kansas State who were in a tie for second with 44 points each ... UT has won all four previous league titles (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005). In 2004, the regatta was cancelled due to severe weather on the day of competition.
