Women's Golf preview: Stanford Intercollegiate
WHAT: No. 23 Texas (Golfweek/Sagarin) takes part in its third tournament of the 2007-08 season, the 18-team Stanford Intercollegiate. WHERE: Stanford Golf Course - Palo Alto, Calif. (par 72, 6,154 yards) WHEN: The tournament field will play 18 holes each day from Friday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 21. WHO: The tournament features host Stanford, Texas, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Duke, Georgia, New Mexico, Oregon State, Oregon, Pepperdine, San Jose State, UCLA, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State. TEXAS STARTERS: UT coach Martha Richards will start junior Kristin Walla (Aspen, Colo.), junior Caney Hines (San Antonio, Texas), senior Ashley Rollins (Austin, Texas), sophomore Shannon Fish (Spring, Texas) and senior Julia Best (Bulverde, Texas). LAST TIME OUT: Texas placed 16th in the 18-team Lady Tar Heel Invitational with a 48-over 912. Senior Ashley Rollins led Texas by tying for 35th place with a nine-over 225.
