PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The University of Texas Women's Golf team moved up one spot into a tie for 10th place after shooting a combined 19-over-par 299 on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate (Stanford Golf Course: Par 70, 5,583). Arizona St. currently leads the three-round tournament at four-over-par. Seniors Lisa Ferrero (Lodi, Calif.) and Perry Swenson (Charlotte, N.C.) are tied for 22nd at six-over-par, ten strokes behind individual leader Anastasia Kostina of Washington St.

"We just didn't make a lot happen today," said Texas head coach Susan Watkins. "We're going to go hit the range for a little while and try to polish some things up and I expect us to score well in the final round."

Ferrero shot a second-round 73 to match her first round total, leaving her at six-over-par. Swenson, who shot an even-par 70 in the first round, carded a 76 on Saturday to match Ferrero at six-over-par.

Freshman Kelley Louth (Victoria, Texas) bettered her first-round score by one stroke shooting a 75 on Saturday. Her total of 151 has her in a tie for 52nd place. Both junior Devan Andersen (Guadalajara, Mexico) and sophomore Ashley Prust (Englewood, Colo.) improved on their first-round totals as well. Andersen followed a 78 in the first round with a 75 in the second round, which leaves her in 62nd place. Prust bettered her first round score by eight strokes with a 76 on Saturday.
