Women's Golf preview: Lady Tar Heel Invitational
WHAT: No. 25 Texas takes part in its second tournament of the 2007-08 season, the Lady Tar Heel Invitational. WHERE: UNC Finley Golf Course - Chapel Hill, N.C. (par 72, 6,285 yards) WHEN: The tournament field will play 18 holes each day from Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7. WHO: The tournament features host North Carolina, Texas, Auburn, College of Charleston, Duke, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, N.C. State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest. TEXAS STARTERS: UT coach Martha Richards will start senior Ashley Rollins (Austin, Texas), junior Kristin Walla (Aspen, Colo.), senior Julia Best (Bulverde, Texas), sophomore Shannon Fish (Spring, Texas) and junior Caney Hines (San Antonio, Texas). LAST TIME OUT: Texas shot its lowest 54-hole tournament score in 12 seasons when it carded a collective 11-over 875 for third place at the season-opening Cougar Classic in Hanahan, S.C. Senior Ashley Rollins led the Longhorns by tying for eighth place at one-over par.
