Women's Golf adds Richards to list of 2006-07 signees
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas women's golf head coach Susan Watkins announced Wednesday the addition of Alexandra Richards (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis HS) to National Letter of Intent for the 2006-07 year. Richards joins Raelyn Smith ( Odessa, Texas/Permian HS) and Brittany Tomerlin ( San Angelo, Texas/ San Angelo Central HS) in next year's freshmen class, as they both signed earlier with Texas. Richards is a three-time All-State honoree and a two-time district medalist (2006 and 2005). She placed sixth at the Texas State Junior Championships in 2004. She has four top 10 finishes in AJGA competition, overall; two of them were in 2005. Richards was a four-year letter winner and 2005 team MVP at Lake Travis High School in Austin. She earned all-district and all-region honors all four years of high school. A member of the National Honor Society and the 2006 Lake Travis Female Athlete of the year, Richards will continue a strong tradition of women's golfers with great academic and athletic backgrounds. The University of Texas women's golf team was one of 63 teams selected to participate in the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships Regionals. Texas will participate at the NCAA Central Regional May 11-13 which take place at 7,200-yard Traditions Club at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Alexandra Richards Nationally High School
