Howdy from the desert!

Well, a lot of great things happened today… The team did awesome, no one dehydrated, and I even got a little tan!

The day started off very early. The alarm in Caney’s and my room went off at 5 a.m. … YIKES! But, everyone was in good spirits, ready to go out and show the field what the Longhorns are made of. Our first tee-time was at 7, which seems quite early. However, if you’ve never been to the lovely state of Arizona, it’s actually a blessing because you miss most of the sweltering heat.

Caney and Shannon both started the day out well, with a couple of *tweet tweet* birdies. That got the ball rollin’ for the team. Everyone continued to fight and stay tough throughout the day. It was a great day of golf, that’s for sure.

The funniest parts of the day?  One would have to be the girls giving me a hard time for actually missing some baseball games this weekend. Let’s just say I’ve become an avid Texas baseball fan over the years. And Nicole, being the sarcastic freshman that she is, proceeded to tease me about it as she walked down the 15th fairway. Even though she towers over me, I know I can take her. (Just kidding, NV.) Also, my wonderful roommate and “so-called best friend” Caney decided to tie my shoelaces together as we watched the team finish up on 18 green. She thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. And I’ll be honest, it probably was.

Well, now it’s time to relax and for some girls to study for finals before bed. Not me though! I am officially done with school. I am now a Texas Ex. Very strange…

That’s it from Arizona guys! Keep up with the team on GolfStat.com tomorrow.

Hook ‘Em!
