Rollins earns All-Big 12 Women's Golf honors
IRVING, Texas -- Texas senior Ashley Rollins earned a unanimous selection to the 2008 All-Big 12 Women’s Golf team from the league’s head coaches Friday after posting the Longhorns’ top individual finish in each of UT’s eight regular-season events. Rollins (Austin, Texas/Westwood) tallied a team-leading 74.61 scoring average and posted the Longhorns’ top individual finish of the season, a third-place showing at the Central District Invitational in February. Rollins registered another top-five finish at the Indiana Invitational (T-5th) and additional top-10 showings at the season-opening Cougar Classic (T-8th), the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational (T-7th) and the Big 12 Championship (T-10th). Rollins is UT’s first All-Big 12 selection since 2006, when current Texas senior Julia Best was a second-team selection. Rollins and the Horns host the 2008 NCAA Central Regional Championship from May 8-10 at The University of Texas Golf Club.
