TEXAS VS. BIG 12: The Longhorns are 11-5-0 in head-to-head competition versus Big 12 foes this year.

WEATHER FORECAST: The weather forecast in Norman calls for isolated thunderstorms during Thursday’s practice round and lasting through Friday morning. Saturday and Sunday will range from party cloudy to sunny skies with temperatures in the low 70s.

LAST TIME OUT: The University of Texas Women’s Golf team (299-297-291) carded a 3-over-par 291 in the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational (April 9-11) for 11th place at 23-over 887. Freshman Desiree Dubreuil (76-72-70) led UT on the individual leaderboard with a tie for 24th place at 2-over 218. Her final-round 2-under 70 marked the Longhorns’ lowest individual round in the tournament. Dubreuil has now recorded three of Texas’ last four top finishes, including a career-best tie for fourth place at the UNLV Spring Invitational (March 2-3) and a tie for 19th at the Central District Invitational (Feb. 22-23).

LAST YEAR AT THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP: Freshman Nicole Vandermade (80-77-75) fired a 2-over-par 75 in the final round of the Big 12 Championship (April 24-26, 2009) to lead The University of Texas with a tie for 10th place at 13-over 232 and earn All-Tournament Team honors. LEADING THE LONGHORNS: Freshman Madison Pressel has paced the Longhorns this season with a team-best scoring average of 74.12 through all 25 rounds of competition. Pressel also accounted for UT’s lowest round in relation to par and raw score with a 6-under-65 in the opening round of the Stanford Invitational (Oct. 16, 2009).

WHO’S SCORING: Although five student-athletes compete in every round of competition, the highest score is thrown out before tabulating the team’s 18-hole score. Senior Shannon Fish’s score has counted in each of her 13 rounds of team competition, while freshman Madison Pressel is 24-of-25 (.960) on the season.
