Women's Golf preview: Indiana Invitational
WHAT: Texas concludes the 2007-08 regular season at the 15-team Indiana Invitational. WHERE: Crooked Stick Golf Club (par 72, 7,272 yards) - Carmel, Ind. WHEN: The tournament field will play 36 holes on Monday, April 7 and 18 holes on Tuesday, April 8. WHO: The tournament features host Indiana, Texas, Ball State, Illinois State, Illinois, Iowa, Lipscomb, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue and UNLV. TEXAS STARTERS: Texas will start seniors Ashley Rollins and Julia Best, juniors Kristin Walla and Caney Hines and sophomore Shannon Fish. UT COACH Martha Richards ON THE INDIANA INVITATIONAL: "We're looking forward to competing again. We will have the opportunity to play against a lot of solid teams from the Midwest. It's a great tournament at a great course." LAST YEAR AT THE INDIANA INVITATIONAL: Texas tied for seventh at the 2007 Indiana Invitational, which was played as a 36-hole event. Kristin Walla led UT by tying for 16th place at nine-over par. LAST TIME OUT: Texas placed third at its Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on March 19 at The University of Texas Golf Club. Senior Ashley Rollins led the Longhorns by tying for seventh place at 12-over par.
