TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Texas women's golf team equaled their first round output with a second-round 305 (+17) on Saturday, April 2 at the PING/ASU Invitational (Karsten Golf Course: Par 72, 6,230 yards). The Longhorns now stand in 13th place at 34-over-par and are 32 strokes behind UCLA. Senior Mariana Salazar (Torreon, Mexico) also equaled her output from yesterday with a three-over-par 75. She is tied for 28th place at six-over-par, 12 strokes behind leader Louise Stahle of Arizona State.
Freshman Kelley Louth (Victoria, Texas) was the low Longhorn on the day with a two-over-par 74. She will head into the final day tied for 32nd place at seven-over-par. Senior Lisa Ferrero shot a six-over-par 78 on Saturday and is tied for 47th place at 10-over-par.
Sophomore Julia Best (Bulverde, Texas) carded a six-over-par 78 during the second round and is tied for 51st place at 11-over-par, while freshman Brittany Givilancz (Weslaco, Texas) shot a 10-over-par 82 and is tied for 84th place at 19-over-par.
Sophomore Ashley Prust (Englewood, Colo.), playing as an individual, improved by six strokes from the first round, carding an eight-over-par 80. She is now tied for 91st at 22-over-par.
Final-round action will begin at 8:30 a.m. (Central) with Texas hitting the course at 9:18 a.m. (Central). The Longhorns will be grouped with players from New Mexico State and San Jose State.
