Rollins tabbed Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Month
IRVING, Texas -- The Big 12 Conference selected Texas senior women's golfer Ashley Rollins as its Women's Golfer of the Month after she scored a top-five individual finish and helped UT to a top-five team showing at the recent Central District Invitational. Rollins (Austin, Texas/Westwood HS) tied for third at the Central District Invitational on Feb. 19 with rounds of 73, 76 and 72 to land the Longhorns' top individual finish of the season. Her five-over 221 helped Texas to its second-best team finish of the year. Rollins, who has been the top UT finisher in all six of the Longhorns' events, also tied for 23rd at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational on Feb. 27. Rollins is Texas' first Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month selection since November of 2006, when current UT senior Kelley Louth earned the honor. Texas hosts the 35th annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational from March 17-19 at the University of Texas Golf Club.
