Women's Golf finishes in ninth place at Central District Invitational
PARRISH, Fla. -- University of Texas junior Kelley Louth led the Longhorns with a one-over 73 in the final round to finish in a tie for 12th place Tuesday afternoon at the Central District Invitational at the par 72, 6,009-yard River Wilderness Golf Club. Texas shot 25-over par on the final day to end the 14-team tournament in ninth place at 56-over par. Louth (Victoria, Texas) was one of three Longhorns to either equal or top their score from the previous round in Tuesday's final 18 holes. Louth carded a one-over 73 in the final round, shaving five strokes off of her second round, to land her second top-15 individual finish of the season. Senior Ashley Prust (Englewood, Colo.) matched her second-round score of 81 in the final round to end the tournament in a tie for 46th place at 18-over par. Sophomore Caney Hines (San Antonio, Texas) dropped from a tie for 18th place to a tie for 53rd place after the third round, finishing at 20-over par for the tournament. Freshman Shannon Fish (Spring, Texas), playing her first collegiate event, dropped four strokes from her second round, finishing the third with a six-over 78 and ending the tournament alongside Hines in a tie for 53rd place at 20-over par. Freshman Alex Richards (Austin, Texas) completed the event at 21-over par for 58th place. Texas A&M won the event at 10-over par, and the Aggies' Ashley Knoll took medalist honors at seven-under par.
