Women's Golf preview: Central District Invitational
WHAT: Texas begins its 2008 spring season at the 15-team Central District Invitational WHERE: River Wilderness Golf Club - Parrish, Fla. WHEN: The tournament field will play 36 holes on Monday, Feb. 18 and 18 holes on Tuesday, Feb. 19 WHO: The tournament features host Michigan State, Texas, Baylor, Michigan, Northwestern, SMU, Indiana, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Missouri, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Kent State, Nebraska and Oklahoma. TEXAS STARTERS: UT coach Martha Richards will start seniors Ashley Rollins and Julia Best, juniors Caney Hines and Kristin Walla and sophomore Shannon Fish. LAST TIME OUT: Texas placed ninth in the 18-team UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate on Oct. 28, 2007. Ashley Rollins led the Longhorns by tying for 13th place at 11-over par.
