Women's Golf remains in third place at Stanford Intercollegiate after two rounds of play

Stanford Intercollegiate Day Two Results PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The University of Texas Women's Golf team followed its school record-setting opening round at the Stanford Intercollegiate with a 1-over-par 285 to remain in third place at 4-under 564 (279-285) after 36 holes. Freshman Madison Pressel (65-73=138, -4) continues to lead the Longhorns on the individual leaderboard with a 4-under 138 and is tied for third place in the 54-hole event. After setting the school single-round record on Friday afternoon with a 6-under 65, Pressel carded a 2-over 73 with a scorecard that included three birdies and five bogies. Pressel slipped from atop the leaderboard and into a three-way tie for third place and just one stroke behind individual leaders Marina Alex (Vanderbilt, 66-71=137, -5) and Carlota Ciganda (Arizona State, 67-70=137). Freshman Katelyn Sepmoree fired a team-best 2-under 69 to climb 32 places on the leaderboard and into a tie for 41st place at 7-over 149 (80-69). Sepmoree rebounded from an opening-round 9-over 80 with five birdies, including her last two holes on the Stanford Golf Course, and three bogeys. Sophomore Nicole Vandermade (72-71) and freshman Haley Stephens (70-73) are tied for 17th place at 1-over 143. Senior Shannon Fish (72-72) rounded out the squad with her second-consecutive 1-over 72 and is tied for 22nd at 2-over 144. Arizona State (273-282=555, -13) built upon its first-round lead and holds a seven-stroke advantage over second-place UCLA (277-285=562, -6). Texas leads fourth-place Vanderbilt (290-283=573, +5) by nine strokes heading into Sunday's final round.
