TULSA, Okla. -- Fueled by top-10 finishes from sophomore Katelyn Sepmoree and Madison Pressel, the Texas Women’s Golf team (297-302-301=900, +36) recorded a season-best tie for second place at the Dale McNamara Invitational. Sepmoree’s career-best fifth-place finish was her first top-10 of the season and second of her career, while Pressel’s tie for ninth also marked a career best.
Sepmoree (76-73-70=219, +3) fired a team-low 2-under 70 in Wednesday’s final round at The Patriot Golf Club to climb six places on the leaderboard. She carded three birdies in her final six holes for the Longhorns’ best round of the 54-hole tournament and her first sub-par round of the season.
Pressel entered the final round with back-to-back even-par rounds under her belt, but a 7-over 79 pushed her three-round total to 7-over 223 and tied her for ninth place.

POST-TOURNAMENT QUOTES
Head coach Martha Richards
On the team’s overall performance: I'm really pleased with what we did this week. We saw a lot of really good things, and I'm excited about the direction we’re taking. We still need to put together a complete tournament, and we need to find someone who will make significant contributions for us as our fifth player.
On sophomore Katelyn Sepmoree’s performance: Katelyn played well all week, especially coming down the stretch. She birdied two of her last three holes on Wednesday, including a huge birdie on what was a very difficult 18th hole. She remained very composed the entire week and never lost her focus.
On looking ahead to the final fall tournament: We take a tremendous amount of positives out of this. We still have four practices left before the Landfall Tradition, and I still think we're capable of more.
