Louth leads Women's Golf after two rounds of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational
March 21, 2009 Louth - Texas' top finisher in its last two competitive events - carded bogeys on the 15th, second and third holes after beginning the day on the back nine of her home course. She began the second round tied for 44th place at 4-over 76 and rose 12 places in the individual standings by shaving one stroke off of her opening round. Freshman Nicole Vandermade (79-74=153, +9) had UT's most dramatic climb on the leaderboard from round one to two, as she recorded a team-best 2-over 74 on Saturday and moved from a tie for 64th to 40th place. Vandermade's scorecard included four bogeys and two birdies. Junior Shannon Fish (74-79=153) is tied for 40th with Vandermade at 9-over 153. Seniors Kristin Walla (78-80=158, +14) and Caney Hines (79-81=160, +16) round out Texas' squad and are tied for 61st and 67th places, respectively. Texas also has three individuals competing in its home tournament. Brittany Tomerlin (77-82=159, +15) leads the trio in a tie for 65th place. Alex Richards (83-78=161, +17) and Megan Rosenfeld (80-86=166, +22) are tied for 72nd and 84th places. Arizona State (287-291=578) and Purdue (291-287=578) share the lead at 2-over 578. The Boilermakers' Maria Hernandez (70-69=139) is atop the individual standings at 5-under 139.
