Strauss leads No. 25 Women's Golf to fourth-place finish at Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Sophomore Bertine Strauss fired a final-round 2-under-par 70 Sunday afternoon at the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate to lead the No. 25 Texas Women’s Golf team (299-310-290=899, +35) to a fourth-place team finish at Forest Hills Golf Club. Strauss (73-76-70) notched a career-best fifth place finish at 3-over 219, matching her low 54-hole total as a Longhorn. Beginning her round with a birdie on the sixth hole in the shotgun start, Strauss returned to even-par with a bogey two holes later on No. 8. She sank additional birdies on the 10th and 12th holes before concluding her round with 10 consecutive pars for the 2-under scorecard. Senior Katelyn Sepmoree (74-77-73=224) finished five strokes behind Strauss and tied for a season-best 15th place. Seniors Haley Stephens (73-81-72=226) and Desiree Dubreuil (79-76-75=230) finished tied for 22nd and 34th places, respectively, while freshman Natalie Karcher (84-82-76=242) tied for 69th. Freshman Tezira Abe (79-74-75=228) finished tied for 28th place while competing as an individual.
