Women's Basketball postcard: San Diego, Calif. (Dec. 27)
Dec. 27, 2008 Hey Longhorn fans, I’m just arriving in sunny San Diego from a short break at home in Las Vegas! I had fun spending time with my family and friends. I’m glad I got a chance to catch up with everyone. I also got a chance to have some of my Grandma’s good Jamaican home-cooking. And of course, I did a little shopping at a couple malls. Well, maybe a lot of malls, but who’s counting? I enjoyed my time at home, but now it’s time to get back on the grind and go to work. My teammates and I are glad to be back together! We all missed each other. We got most of the holiday kinks out in our first practice last night. Although San Diego is a relaxing place, this is far from a vacation for us. We’ve had some big wins lately, but we all know we have a long way to go. We are about to start the second part of our season and winning this tournament would be a big boost for us. We need to keep playing hard and stay focused to win this tournament. Well, I have to go now. It’s time to get some rest for tomorrow. Hope you all enjoyed your holidays as much as we did!
