AUSTIN, Texas -- The No. 20 ranked Texas women's basketball team will look for its third straight win tonight (Wednesday) when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center.
This will be the last of a four-game home-stand for the Longhorns, who will not play again at home until January 11th (against Big 12 opponent Iowa State).
Following a break for the Christmas holiday, the Longhorns return to campus on December 26 and prepare for a rigious three-week road swing of three consecutive road games - all of which will be on national TV. UT plays at No. 9/9 Rutgers (Fri., Dec. 30 on CSTV, 6 p.m.) before beginning the Big 12 Conference slate with games at Kansas (Tue., Jan. 3, 6 p.m. on CSTV) and at No. 4/4 Baylor (Sat., Jan. 7, 3 p.m. on FSN) ... To date this year, Texas is 3-2 at home to date, 0-1 in away games and 2-0 at neutral sites.
TAMUCC started the year by playing three of the nation's top-ranked teams in No. 20 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Baylor and No. 3 LSU; although they were all losses, the Islanders rebounded and carry a five-game win streak into tonight's contest. Last year, the Islanders went 23-7 and advanced to the WNIT Tournament second round.
