Hello Longhorn Fans,

Wow, has time flown by or what? Preseason came and went, then we began official practices. Our first game of the season seems like it was longer than 23 days ago, and now we have just arrived back in Austin from our second road trip of the year at Michigan State.

I remember how excited I was to get our new travel outfits and suitcases two weeks ago before our Stanford trip. Then I was blown away by our amazing charter plane. Each of us had two first-class seats to ourselves and a very nice flight crew that served us all kinds of snacks and drinks. Trust me, these accommodations made our study hall hours very comfortable and they seemed to pass by quicker than normal. There also isn't much hassle of waiting in security lines, because we simply arrive at the airport and are screened before we walk right out to the plane. When we arrive at our destination, we get off the plane and step right onto the charter bus. This was a nice change for me, as I have been used to flying commercially for all of my past travels.

Stepping off the plane in Michigan this weekend reminded me of winter back home in Bowling Green, Mo. It was cold enough to see your breath, and there was snow on the ground. The bus took us to the Michigan State gym where we watched video and held practice. After practice, we checked in at the hotel, showered and had a meal together downstairs.

Sunday morning we all got to sleep in a little bit. Our pre-game meal was at 1 p.m. and we also went over our scout report. After pre-game meal we packed up and left for the gym. Hopefully you had a chance to watch us on television, but if not, we hope to see you at the Erwin Center this week when we host Texas-Pan American on Wednesday and Tennessee on Sunday.

Hook'em!
Anne Marie Hartung
