Duke and Tennessee are flip-flopped at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots in the two polls... That loss to Tennessee was the sixth largest loss margin in Texas history, and the worst loss for either team in the Tennessee-Texas series, which stands at 26 games (a 16-10 series edge for the Lady Vols)... Duke has not played since Sunday (Nov. 27) when it earned the title at its own Duke Classic, defeating Auburn 69-37 in the finals.

Prior to the loss at Tennessee, Texas won the Lucaya Division title at the Junkanoo Jam Tournament (Freeport, Grand Bahama Island) where UT stopped South Carolina (59-55, Nov. 25) and George Washington (59-54, Nov. 26) ... In the preseason Big 12 coaches poll, Texas was picked second (behind defending NCAA titlist Baylor)- that's the one-two finish of those two teams in last year's Big 12 race ... In the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason coaches polls, the Blue Devils were picked first for the sixth time in the last eight years ... North Carolina and Maryland followed.

Brutal Stretch: Tennessee and Duke Back-to-Back for Longhorns:
