• Hot Hands in Hawai'i ... Sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell scored a career-high 30 points (9-of-16 FG, 4-of-9 3FG, 8-of-10 FT) against UVa on Friday afternoon. She is 16-of-30 from the field in her last two games and connecting on 53.3 percent of her attempts.

Threes are Falling Again
After connecting on just 11 3-point field goals in the first three games, the Longhorns hit seven treys against the Cavaliers. Sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell tied her career-high with four made from beyond the arc. Texas connected on four more against California to improve to 31 percent (11-of-33) while in Hawai'i. She Walks the Line Sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell leads UT from the free throw line with a 19-of-21 mark (.905). Her only two misses of the season came against Virginia where she was 8-of-10 from the line.

Playing Team Ball
Texas was the epitome of team ball in its game against No. 22 Virginia on Friday afternoon. The Longhorns combined for 15 assists, including a game-high six by senior guard Ashleigh Fontenette, on 23 field goals.

Chassidy Fussell gave Texas its only lead of the game when she scored with 1:11 left Saturday to lift the No. 24 Longhorns over California 61-60 in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown. Fussell finished with 15 points to pace Texas (4-1) to its fourth straight victory. Yvonne Anderson added 14 points and Ashleigh Fontenette 12. Ashley Gayle had 11 rebounds. Layshia Clarendon led the Golden Bears (3-2) with 13 points. Linsday Sherbert had 11 and Reshanda Gray 10, giving her five straight double-digit games to open her collegiate career. Gennifer Brandon grabbed 12 rebounds. The Bears used a 12-0 run for a 16-4 edge with 14:25 left in the half and led 30-24 at intermission. California outrebounded Texas 40-31 but committed 23 turnovers to the Longhorns' 16.

To Serve and Protect
Senior guards Yvonne Anderson and Ashleigh Fontenette have combined for 43 of Texas' 74 assists this season. Anderson leads the team with 26 assists while Fontenette has dished out 17. In addition, Fontenette boasts a 2.4-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio through five games.
