Women's Basketball's Thanksgiving wishes from the Bahamas
The No. 18 Texas Women’s Basketball team is sending these Thanksgiving Day thanks and blessings from the Bahamas, where the Longhorns are playing in the Junkanoo Jam Tournament beginning on Friday (vs. South Carolina). Ashley Lindsey: I am thankful for my parents helping me always and supporting me in all that I do ... I also am thankful for basketball, food on my table, and clothes on my back ... Mariana Mergerson: I am thankful for my family and friends who always support me, especially through the toughest times ... Erika Arriaran: I am grateful for all the times I got to spend with my family at previous Thanksgivings, as this is my first time away from my family at this holiday ... I also am thankful for this first opportunity to travel with my Longhorn basketball team ... Katrina Robinson: I am thankful that we made it over the Atlantic ocean to get here, thankful that I have 14 of the greatest teammates in the world, and thankful for AOL Instant Messenger! ... Coco Reed: I am thankful always for my family and friends being so supportive of me throughout my injuries. I also am grateful to spend this Thanksgiving in the beautiful Bahamas with my teammates and coaching staff ... Daria Mieloszynska: I have so much to be thankful for! I am thankful for being able to see my entire family this past summer back in Poland. Everyone gathered in my hometown for my brother Sebastian's wedding, and I had not seen many of them in five years. I am especially thankful for being able to see my grandmother, Genia Gardocka. I am grateful for the opportunities in getting an education and playing basketball in the USA, grateful for having people in my life who believe in me and support me and who have influenced me in a positive way. As important, I am grateful to have a relation with God ... Tiffany Jackson: I am grateful and thankful every day for my family and opportunities ... Crystal Boyd: I am thankful for life, my family, my teammates and coaches, my friends back home and the love of my life! ... Carla Cortijo: I am thankful for my family, grateful to be healthy again and playing the sport I love .. I am also grateful for being here in islands for Thanksgiving - it reminds me of home (Puerto Rico) and it feels like I am almost at home for this holiday... Kalee Carey: I am thankful for family, friends and extended family and thankful that my sister Kacee has been healthy in her pregnancy ... I am really thankful that my family, grandparents and friends were able to come down to Austin a week ago and we could celebrate Thanksgiving together in a pre-Thanksgiving gathering ... Erneisha Bailey: I am thankful for my family and friends and teammates... Tamra Cobbins: I am thankful for my family and their support and the fact that I am a senior about to graduate from such a prestigious university - that is a true blessing. I am grateful to be the first to graduate from college on my mom's side of the family... Shane Laflin (graduate assistant): I am thankful for my family and close friends. I am especially thankful for the opportunity to work for this basketball program. Working with and for such a wonderful coaching staff is an opportunity of a lifetime. Meeting the people that I have met at the University of Texas will be something I never forget. They are all true professionals, great coaches and staff, and even better people.
