Texas was ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press Top 25 Preseason Poll and stayed at No. 25 in the first week of the poll, released Monday (Nov. 13) ... UT also is in the "also receiving votes" category in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Preseason Poll (at #28) ... The Longhorns, picked to finish third in the Big 12 race, won both of their exhibition games with victories over the Houston Jaguars (72-31 on Nov. 2) and over Trinity University (78-29, Nov. 7) prior to three season-opening wins ... Texas opened the season by hosting the Basketball Travelers Classic at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, and winning the three-day, four-team round-robin tournament held Sunday-Tuesday, Nov. 12-14... Texas went 3-0 as the only undefeated team ... Sunday, UT posted a 78-55 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in the first round and followed with a 69-59 decision over Louisiana-Lafayette Monday and a 74-55 win over Texas State on Tuesday.

All-America and National Player of the Year candidate senior forward Tiffany Jackson claimed tourney MVP honors by collecting a tourney-high 70 points along with 31 rebounds and 11 steals in UT wins over Maryland-Eastern Shore, Louisiana-Lafayette and Texas State .. Named to the six-member All-Tournament Team along with Jackson were Longhorn junior guard Erneisha Bailey and freshman guard Niqky Hughes ... Bailey put together the best three-game streak in her UT career, netting 29 points, including a career-best 17 vs. Texas State ... She pulled down career highs in rebounds all three games with 11 (vs. MES and La-Lafayette) and 10 (vs. Texas State) ... Hughes contributed 29 points and 10 boards off the bench.
1,000th Game on UT SIdelines for Conradt Tonight
Tonight's game will be the 1,000th game that UT head coach Jody Conradt has stood on the Texas sidelines.... Conradt is in her 31st year at Texas, and her record at the Forty Acres is 768-231 (.769)... In her overall coaching career, Conradt stands No. 2 among all-time men's and women's coaches in collegiate victories ... Bailey Tough on the Boards
The UT rebounding corp is led by 5-9 junior guard Erneisha Bailey who has pulled down 32 boards in the first three games for a team-best 10.7 rpg average... Bailey has put together back-to-back-to-back career nights on the boards with 11 rebounds against Maryland-Eastern Shore and Louisiana-Lafayette games, followed by 10 against Texas State ... Her prior single-game rebound high was six, set last year against Connecticut on Feb. 12, 2006 in Austin... Bailey, in her three starts, also had a career-high 17 points in the win over Texas State (prior high was 11 vs. TAMU-Corpus Christi, Dec. 21, 2005).
Cortijo Expected Back Tonight
UT redshirt freshman and point guard Carla Cortijo sat out play in UT's last two games due to a strained left hamstring tendon ... She made her season debut in Sunday's win over Maryland-Eastern Shore ... Cortijo missed last year as a medical redshirt and had knee surgery in the winter ... In UT's season opener, Cortijo played in 22 minutes vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore off the bench, with a team-high six assists, five steals (game-
high tying) and two points on 1-for-3 shooting... She is listed day-to-day.

Texas sophomore guard Erika Arriaran, who netted 15 points against MES, is No. 12 in all-time Texas 3-pointers made ... With two against Maryland-Eastern Shore, she now has 48 in her career - one shy of the No. 11 spot (held by Nina Norman, 2002-06) and seven shy of the No. 10 spot, held by Kala Bowers (56, 2001-05).
Senior Tiffany Jackson leads the team in free throws made (17) and taken (27), hitting at a 63 percent clip from the foul line ... Those 17 made free throws move Jackson into the No. 5 spot in UT career free throws made with 359 .. Jackson is 14shy of the No. 4 spot, held by Edwina Brown (373, 1996-2000).
