Meet and greet UT Basketball teams at RoundBall RoundUp on Oct. 26
AUSTIN, Texas -- There is a special evening of fun scheduled for Friday, October 26 when the UT students, campus members and basketball fans are invited to come to Gregory Gym and meet all the players and coaches on the 2007-08 Longhorns men's basketball and women's basketball teams. The inaugural event, called the "RoundBall RoundUp", is a FREE event, presented by Coca-Cola and UT Athletics. Gregory Gym is located in the heart of the UT campus on the corner of 21st and Speedway. This is a preseason opportunity see both these nationally-ranked teams and help the Horns kick off their respective 2007-08 seasons. Fans are invited to meet men's basketball head coach Rick Barnes and new women's head coach Gail Goestenkors, their coaching staffs and all Longhorns players at the event. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., and the event begins at 7 p.m.; highlighting the RoundBall Roundup will be games, contests, prizes, special giveaways and the chance to meet the players and coaches, up close and personal. The fun-filled event also features music by D.J. Kurupt and the Longhorn Basketball Band, with appearances by the UT cheerleaders, Hook 'Em Mascot and pom squad. The RoundBall RoundUp event is open to the public. Prior to the RoundBall RoundUp, the outdoor Gregory Gym pool area will be the site of a UT-student only Pool Party. This student event, which runs from 6-7 p.m., is organized by the UT Student Government and the Office of the VP for Diversity and Community Engagement.
