Women's Basketball meets Houston Rockets during NBA team training camp in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas women’s basketball team met with players from the Houston Rockets recently while the Rockets ran a seven-day preseason training camp at UT’s own Cooley Pavilion on the UT campus. The Rockets training camp in Austin concluded on Oct. 8. Mike Harris, a 6-6 forward, starred as a collegian at Rice University in Houston. He spent last year with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Colorado 14ers of the NBDL. Battier, a 6-8 forward, is in his seventh NBA season. While in Austin, Battier was reunited with UT head coach Gail Goestenkors, who coached at Duke University when Battier starred for the Blue Devils. Battier was the consensus National Player of the Year in 2000-01.
