Women's Basketball practices on Oct. 14 & 15 open to public
AUSTIN, Texas -- The first two official days of Texas women's basketball practice sessions will be open to the general public this upcoming weekend, with practices taking place at the Frank Erwin Center. Official NCAA basketball practice can begin on Friday evening, October 14. The Longhorns, under the direction of head coach Jody Conradt, will hold their first practice at 7:00 p.m. (Central) Friday evening, and will follow with a 10 a.m. practice the next morning (Saturday, Oct. 15). Both of these practices are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. A new feature will be added to the TexasSports.com women's basketball page entitled "." It will list team activities and games, including those selected days that practice will be open to the public. If a practice will be open to the general public, it will be listed on this schedule. Some weekend practices in the preseason will be open. Fans also need to note that space also may be limited when those open practices take place in the confines of the Cooley Pavilion practice court. "This is the time of year when the coaching staffs, fans and alumni get very excited about the approaching basketball season," noted Conradt. "It's been my philosophy to hold open practices whenever possible. We have a very loyal group of supporters who do come to our afternoon practice sessions when they are open. We wanted them to have the opportunity to watch our team this weekend. In addition, we invite others who might not be able to see us practice in the afternoons come to our Friday evening practice and Saturday morning practice at the Erwin Center."
