Teachers, treat your students and attend the second annual Texas Women's Basketball 40 Acres Field Trip! On Nov. 30, UT Athletics opens the doors of the Frank Erwin Center to fourth, fifth and sixth graders of Central Texas. Through this opportunity, these students gain exposure to college athletics and a unique, interactive experience with higher education. Students and chaperones receive FREE tickets* to the Texas Women's Basketball game to visit the campus and be encouraged to pursue higher education.
For information about last season's event and what's new for 2012 visit www.40AcresFieldTrip.com.
To be a part of the regular school day, the game will tip off at 11 a.m. The doors to the Frank Erwin Center will open at 9:30 a.m. to give early arriving schools the opportunity to see demonstrations from numerous academic groups from UT during a pre-game expo. Students will be stimulated academically by some of the most entertaining educational programs The University of Texas has to offer, including demonstrations from the Cockrell School of Engineering and College of Natural Sciences. Each student will also receive a worksheet with age appropriate activities to enhance the educational value of this athletic event.
This is an exciting opportunity UT Athletics is proud to offer. If you would like to ensure your students are part of this groundbreaking initiative, sign up today! We will see you on Nov. 30.
*Tickets subject to availability; transportation not provided. Due to NCAA rules, free tickets are for chaperones and children grades 4-6 only. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. or when tickets are no longer available.
