Women's Basketball set to appear on ESPN2 and FSN in 2009-10

AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas Women’s Basketball team will appear on national television at least seven times during the 2009-10 season, including three appearances on ESPN2. The Longhorns will play four televised games on FSN (Fox Sports Net), as part of the Big 12’s television package with the national network. As part of the Nov. 17 ESPNU Road to the Championship in San Antonio, Texas’ non-conference game against 2009 national champion Connecticut will appear on ESPN2 (8:30 p.m.). UT will return to the network on Dec. 6 when it takes on perennial power Tennessee (6 p.m.) in Knoxville, and again in Big 12 action when Baylor visits the Frank Erwin Center on Jan. 31 (4 p.m.). In Big 12 Conference action, Texas will appear in four of the league’s 19 regular-season games airing on FSN, beginning with its Jan. 16 contest at Texas Tech (11:30 a.m.). Additionally, the network will also televise the State Farm Lone Star Showdown at Texas A&M on Feb. 20 (12 p.m.), Oklahoma at Texas on Feb. 27 (4 p.m.) and Texas at Baylor on March 7 (2:30 p.m.). The final seven games of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Championship will be televised by FSN for the ninth consecutive year, in addition to the semifinals and final which have been aired by the network every year since the inception of the conference in 1996-97.
