2006-07 ESPN Women's Basketball TV schedule announced
DALLAS -- Jody Conradt's Texas basketball team will be featured three times on the Big 12 Conference's telecast package with ESPN during the 2006-07 season, the league announced Monday.
The 2006-07 Big 12 women's basketball television package with ESPN has increased to five games on ESPN2 in addition to appearances by league teams in two other games selected by the network.
The Big 12 package includes both games of the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge - Purdue at Texas on Sunday, Jan. 7 from the Frank Erwin Center (2 p.m.) and the Ohio State-Oklahoma game on Dec. 20. Both of these air on ESPN2.
Texas has one more game on ESPN2 - a "Big Monday" contest at Oklahoma on Feb. 12 (6 p.m. Central tip). This will be Texas' first appearance on a "Big Monday" ESPN telecast, as the network begin this coverage for women's basketball last year.
In addition, the Longhorns non-conference showdown with Duke in Austin on Sunday, Dec. 10 will air on ESPNU.
Big 12 conference matchups will be played in February during the heat of the Big 12 championship race. Kansas State travels to Texas Tech on Feb. 11, followed by the Oklahoma-Texas "Big Monday" telecast a day later and the Texas A&M-Baylor game on Feb. 25.
The Big 12 will have 34 appearances on national television with seven on ESPN affiliates and 27 on FSN (FOX Sports Net). Texas will appear on FSN's national broadcast four times.
