Coach G's journey to the gold: Aug. 15

Hello everyone, We just finished playing Spain and they gave us a good test. It was a close game throughout the first half but then our defense improved and we pulled away to win, 93-55. It's been non-stop basketball but every day we get one step closer to our goal of winning the gold. We got one day off and everyone (coaches and players) made the most of it. I got my laundry done. It's not easy packing for 30 days! We went shopping for souvenirs and finally were able to find a Mexican restaurant. Let me tell you, Gueros has nothing to worry about. I also saw a place that had a big neon Longhorn in the window and a sign that read "Texas Barbeque sold here." I am definitely going back to see what Chinese Texas Barbeque is all about, so now you know I'm adventurous! The team went to the men's game against Greece last night, and it was so much fun. We were right down by the end zone near the floor and really felt like we were part of the action. The two USA teams have really supported each other and both are determined to win the gold. Well, I've got to go. I have another game to scout. We play New Zealand next, and then it's time for the medal rounds. Take care!
