AUSTIN, Texas -- Home games against five 2008 NCAA Tournament participants highlight the Longhorns' 2008-09 Big 12 Conference schedule, released Thursday. Texas opens its league slate on the road in Lubbock, where it will face Women's NIT participant Texas Tech on January 10. UT's non-conference schedule has not been finalized at this date.

UT welcomes 2008 NCAA squads Nebraska (Jan. 14), Texas A&M (Jan. 28), Oklahoma State (Feb. 18), Baylor (Feb. 28) and Oklahoma (March 8) to the Frank Erwin Center this season. WNIT participant Colorado (Jan. 17) and Kansas (Feb. 11) will also make the trip to Austin during conference play.

The Horns' road league schedule takes them to Oklahoma (Jan. 25), Baylor (Feb. 1), Oklahoma State (Feb. 5), Iowa State (Feb. 15), Texas A&M (Feb. 21) and Missouri (Feb. 24). UT plays its final road contest at Kansas State, home of the 2008 Big 12 regular season champions.

The 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship will be contested Thursday-Sunday, March 12-15, at Oklahoma City's Cox Convention Center. The format change sees first-round action on Thursday followed by quarterfinals on Friday, semifinals on Saturday and the Championship on Sunday. Times are yet to be determined.
