AUSTIN, Texas -- Some UT students just made good on the rewards portion of the Varsity Rewards program. The gift was an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Cooley Pavilion, the training center for Men's and Women's Basketball.

Qualifying members of the UT Varsity Rewards program, an incentive-based points system for students who attend Men's and Women's home games, recently spent more than an hour inside Cooley, walking through the trophy-lined hallways, weight room, locker rooms, players lounges and even the expansive training room.

"I was totally blown away by the underwater treadmill," said sophomore Andrew Hammond, a Rewards participant. "It was cool to see the day-in, day-out working of this place, but it was really just cool to see inside this building."

This marked the conclusion of the inaugural year for UT Varsity Rewards. More than 400 students participated in the program, which awards points to students for attending Men's and Women's home games.

And points turn into rewards.

The more points a student earns, the better the rewards -- which include everything from a headband and Nike sweatshirt to a Nintendo Wii/Guitar Hero bundle and priority student seating status for the upcoming Texas Football season. Eligible members also receive premium seating at the Frank Erwin Center.

"I'm a huge basketball fan, and for me to be able to get in and sit in the lower level, and be that close to the action, it's just awesome," said Oge Ubesie, a psychology/pre-med sophomore.
