Coach G's open letter to Women's Basketball fans
March 15, 2010
Dear Friends of Texas Women's Basketball --
The Frank Erwin Center is sometimes called "The Drum," because that's what it looks like from the outside. But what about the inside?
Inside is where you find its sound, its heart -- and that's you! I speak for myself and everyone within our Texas Women's Basketball family when I say thank you for your loyalty and your support. Every game, we need you, and we do hear you!
This season, we accomplished some great things. You have truly been the energy behind our effort, and it's not over yet! On March 21 and 23, The University of Texas will host the first and second rounds of the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. You'll have the chance to see four of the best teams in the country, while filling our arena with Texas pride and spirit.
We've worked very hard to be one of those four teams, and now we're in a great position to play our first two rounds of the NCAA tournament on our home floor and in front of our fans.
Come early, stay late, be loud -- and help us make the Drum beat!
The First Round games are scheduled for Sunday, March 21. No. 6 seed UT will play No. 11 seed San Diego State at 6:11 p.m., and No. 3 seed West Virginia will play No. 14 seed Lamar at approximately 8:30 p.m. The winners of those two games will face off in the Second Round on Tuesday, March 23 at 8:30 p.m.
