Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship bracket announced

IRVING, Texas -- The pairings for the 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship have been set, conference officials announced Saturday evening. Texas (18-12, 7-9 Big 12) is the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will face No. 10-seed Missouri (13-17, 5-11 Big 12) in the first round on Tuesday, March 8 at 5 p.m. Central.
Should Texas win its opening-round game against Missouri, the Longhorns would advance to play No. 2-seed Texas A&M (25-4, 13-3 Big 12) in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. Semifinal round play is scheduled for Friday, March 11, while the championship game is slated for Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m.
First round games will be televised by Metro Sports in Kansas City, while the quarterfinals through the final will be aired on FSN.
Texas' first-round game vs. Missouri will also be broadcast on Time Warner Cable's Texas Channel in the following markets: Austin, Waco/Temple/Killeen, San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, and Laredo (Ch. 888); Corpus Christi (Ch. 100); and Dallas (Ch. 185).
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship returns to Municipal Auditorium for the 10th time in conference history. Kansas City hosted the first six women's postseason events from 1997-2002, in addition to the 2005, 2008 and 2009 championships.
