Women's Basketball-Texas A&M showdown in College Station Wednesday night

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas women's basketball team sets its sights on another Big 12 Conference win tonight when the Longhorns (13-11 overall, 7-6 in the Big 12) square off against No. 25 Texas A&M (19-7, 8-5) at Reed Arena in College Station. Game time is 7 p.m. in the latest State Farm Lone Star Showdown series game.

The State Farm LSS is the points race across all sports that UT and A&M compete in/ Texas currently holds a 6.5-1.5 State Farm LSSD points edge; a school needs 10 points to win the Showdown for the year. Texas won the inaugural series last year (14.4 to 4.5). Each basketball team win gets one-half point; the Aggies have 0.5 points in the women's basketball series this year with its win over the Longhorns in Austin earlier this month.

There is no television for tonight's game, but the game will air live on KVET Radio (1300 the Zone) in the Central Texas area. Fans also can listen via the internet at TexasSports.com.

The Longhorns will be led by 6-3 junior Tiffany Jackson (14.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg), freshman guard Erika Arriaran (11.0 ppg) and senior point guard Nina Norman (10.8 ppg).

In Saturday's win over Oklahoma State, Norman joined an illustrious group of Longhorns as she recorded the 400th assist of her UT career. Norman is now one of only FIVE players in Texas basketball history to register 1,000 career points and 400 career assists when she picked up three assists in the OSU game. She now has 1,028 points and stands No. 8 in all-time UT assists with 403.
