AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas women's basketball team will receive nation-wide radio coverage of two upcoming games as the Texas-Texas A&M game on Sunday, Feb. 24, and the Texas-Oklahoma contest on Sunday, March 2, will be carried live on XM Radio.
XM Satellite Radio is the official satellite radio home of The University of Texas Longhorns. UT sports programming is heard on XM channel 241.
The Texas-Texas A&M game, a State Farm Lone Star Showdown contest, tips at 2 p.m. Central from Austin this Sunday. The UT-OU game takes place in Norman, Okla., and begins at 12:30 p.m. Central.
XM radio coverage for the two upcoming UT women's basketball games will be in addition to coverage by the Longhorns' regular radio broadcast partner -- KVET Radio 1300 AM. Fans will have three options to listen to the Texas-Texas A&M and Texas-OU basketball games: on KVET 1300 AM in Central Texas, via internet audio (at subscription-based Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast) and via XM.
Texas fans can tune into the games on XM radios for the car, home, office, and portable use. XM is broadcast nationwide to more than 8 million subscribers.
Beginning this 2007-08 academic year, XM Radio airs every regular-season Texas football game, most UT men's basketball games every weekly Longhorns Sportsline radio show with coaches Mack Brown and Rick Barnes, and now, selected games of women's basketball and baseball. (Those baseball games are TBA).
