• Long-standing Rivalry ... The long-standing rivalry between the Longhorns and Lady Raiders is the longest in Texas Women’s Basketball history. The two teams are meeting tonight for the 87th time since Jan. 15, 1977. The Longhorns are riding a five-game home win streak against the Lady Raiders and have not lost at the Frank Erwin Center since Feb. 26, 2006.
• Hartung’s Career Night ... Sophomore forward Anne Marie Hartung set career highs in points (17), field goals made (8) and minutes played (34) in UT’s win over Oklahoma State. Hartung has made three consecutive starts for the Longhorns and is averaging 10.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over the stretch.
• Fussell Leading Scoring Effort ... Sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell is averaging a team-high 16.5 ppg in Big 12 Conference games. She is the second-leading scorer across the conference in league-only games.
• Goestenkors Approaching Career Milestones ... Head coach Gail Goestenkors is closing in on two career milestones as the regular season winds down. Goestenkors is two wins shy of her 100th victory at Texas (98-60). She is also just six wins shy of her 500th overall Division I victory (494-159).

Wednesday’s contest marks the 87th meeting between Texas and Texas Tech. Texas holds a 60-26 advantage in the all-time series that began on Jan. 15, 1977 and is the longest-running series in school history. UT holds a 60-26 all-time advantage, and is 28-6 when the teams meet in Austin. The Longhorns are riding a five-game home win streak against the Lady Raiders and have not lost at the Frank Erwin Center since Feb. 26, 2006.

Flashback: at No. 21/23 Texas Tech (Jan. 28, 2012)
Jordan Barncastle scored 19 points, including a key three-point play with 24 seconds left, to help No. 21 Texas Tech end a five-game skid with a 75-71 victory over Texas. Texas led for just the second time in the game after free throws by Ashleigh Fontenette made it 71-70 with 48 seconds to play. Barncastle’s offensive rebound and put back moments later gave the Lady Raiders the lead again, and a corner three by Texas’ Chassidy Fussell bounced off the side of the backboard with 9 seconds left. Fussell scored 19 for Texas.
What’s the Difference?
The big statistical difference in Texas’ 14 wins and 10 losses this season can be traced to the defensive end of the court. In its victories, Texas has held opponents to an average of 52.9 points per contest and a combined 30.2 percent FG shooting, while outrebounding the opponent by +6.3.
Last Time Out: vs. Oklahoma State (Feb. 11, 2012)
Anne Marie Hartung scored a career-high 17 points to headline three Texas players in double-digit scoring, as the Texas Women’s Basketball team ended a four-game losing streak with a 69-53 victory against Oklahoma State. Hartung, who earned her third-straight start, was 8-of-12 from the floor and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in 34 minutes of play. Chassidy Fussell led all scorers with 20 points, and point guard Yvonne Anderson scored 18 while also contributing a game-high five assists. The Longhorns led by seven at halftime, but hit six of their first seven shots of the second half to stake a 47-30 lead with 16:01 stillremaining. OSU pulled within nine at the 5:18 mark, but UT responded with an 8-2 run to maintain control of the game. The Cowgirls were limited to 30 percent shooting. Kendra Suttles led OSU with 16 points, while point guard Tiffany Bias added 12. UT shot 7-of-18 from 3-point range, and Fussell was 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Texas is averaging 15.4 turnovers per game in league games compared to 18.4 in non-conference action. The Longhorns committed a season-low eight turnovers against Oklahoma State (Feb. 11).
Fussell En Fuego
Sophomore guard Chassidy Fussell hit a career-best five three-point field goals against Kansas State (Feb. 1). She had previously connected on four treys in nine games including twice this season against Virginia and Iowa State.
Anderson’s Total Effort
Despite a 75-71 loss at Texas Tech (Jan. 28), senior guard Yvonne Anderson put forth a season-high 40 minutes of offense and defense in Lubbock. She scored 18 points while connecting on a season-high eight FGs and dished out seven assists. On the defensive end, Anderson pulled down five rebounds and collected two steals.
