Seven Women's Basketball players earn Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection
DALLAS -- Seven players from the 25th-ranked Texas women's basketball team were named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for outstanding academic achievement in the fall of 2007 semester. The Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who registered a 3.0 or better grade point average the previous semester. The seven student-athletes for head coach Gail Goestenkors' squad named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall are below (with year of academic status and major listed): Senior guard Erneisha Bailey (Kansas City, Mo./Pembroke Hill), sport management major Junior guard Carla Cortijo (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Bellaire-Houston, Texas), kinesiology major Freshman guard Kathleen Nash (Plano, Texas/Plano West HS), education major Sophomore forward Kristen Nash (Plano, Texas/Plano West HS), education major Sophomore guard Brittainey Raven (Fort Worth, Texas/North Crowley HS), education major Freshman forward Rachel Rentschler (Keller, Texas/Fort Worth Christian HS), education major Junior forward Earnesia Williams (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa HS), youth and community studies major Kristen Nash has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll each of her first three semesters at UT. This is the second such honor for both Raven and Williams, while Raven and the two freshmen (Kat Nash and Rentschler) attained Honor Roll status for the first time.
