Women's Basketball looks to extend win streak tonight; faces Nebraska in Lincoln
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas women's basketball team is looking to keep the momentum going and build on last's week Big 12 success as they square off against the Nebraska Huskers tonight (Wed., Jan. 18) in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Tip is at 7:05 p.m. (CST).
The Longhorns, 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the Big 12, bring a two-game win streak into the contest. Nebraska stands at 10-5 overall and is also 2-2 in league play.
Texas is also in the hunt for its 100th Big 12 regular season victory, standing 99-49 overall in league action. When UT gets that win, the Longhorns will join Texas Tech at the 100-win plateau in league regular season competition. Texas Tech leads the league with an all-time Big 12 record of 111-36. Iowa State is five victories away from its 100th Big 12 win.
The game will be broadcast live on KVET Radio (1300 AM) in Central Austin and will also be available via an audio internet broadcast via subscription-based Yahoo! Sports (found at TexasSports.com). The game also is available on internet video broadcast via Nebraska's HuskersNside (subscription basis), which can be found at Huskers.com.
The Longhorns will return home for its next game, hosting Kansas State on Sunday, Jan. 22 in a 1 p.m. matchup. K-State is 12-3, 2-2 entering Wednesday's game's at Oklahoma State.
