AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of its home court - the Frank Erwin Center - on Wednesday, Jan. 11 for the first time since December 21.
The Longhorns (6-6 overall) will host Big 12 opponent Iowa State at 7 p.m. at the Erwin Center, located on the UT campus. To date this year, the Longhorns are 4-2 at home. This is the Longhorns first Big 12 home contest of the year, and the squad will look for its first Big 12 win in three tries. The Longhorns have gone a perfect 27-0 at home against the Big 12 over the last four-plus years, including three consecutive 8-0 marks at home in Big 12 play in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Iowa State enters with a record of 10-3 overall and is 1-1 in the league.
This week, according to the CollegeRPI.com, UT's schedule is rated the TOUGHEST in the nation (up from No. 2 the last two weeks), while the Horns are ranked No. 12 overall in the RPI.
