Women's Basketball hosts Big 12 opener tonight against Nebraska on 'Autograph Night'
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas women's basketball team enters Big 12 Conference action Wednesday on a high note, bringing a three-game win streak into its league opener against Nebraska. Tip at the Frank Erwin Center on the UT campus is set for 7 p.m. CT. Following the game, all Longhorns players will hold a FREE autograph session for the fans in attendance. Fans are asked to limit the autographed items to one per person. Both the Longhorns (10-3) and 12-2 Nebraska are fresh off tournament championships. Texas earned the Surf `N Slam Hoops Classic title on Dec. 30 in San Diego, defeating host San Diego, 73-45, in the title game. Texas had beaten Oregon State, 65-64, in the first round on Dec. 28. The Longhorns are 6-2 in their last eight contests, and stand 8-1 at the Frank Erwin Center to begin the year. Nebraska is also one of the hottest teams in the Big 12, entering the contest with a six-game win streak. Nebraska is coming off its own tournament championship, as the Huskers won the State Farm Classic title in Gainesville, Fla., last weekend. Nebraska defeated N.C. State (94-74) and host Florida (81-73) for the title. Plenty of great seats remain for the Big 12 tipoff tonight.
