MANHATTAN, Kan. - Nneka Enemkpali recorded her 11th double-double of the season but the Texas Women's Basketball team fell to the Kansas State Wildcats, 68-47, on Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum.

The Longhorns were unable to keep up with Kansas State from behind the 3-point line and struggled to capitalize on their height advantage throughout the game. The Wildcats sank 12 treys, including eight in the second-half.

Enemkpali's 18-point, 13-rebound double-double led the Longhorns and Empress Davenport added 11 points for her third-straight double-figure scoring effort.

Both teams got off to a slow start from the field and Texas held a slim 13-12 lead 11 minutes into the game before the Wildcats embarked on a 14-4 run to go up nine. The Longhorns got within seven but headed into halftime down 11.

K-State opened the second half with a 14-2 run, including four 3-pointers before the first media timeout. Texas finally got on the board with a three-point play from Nneka Enemkpali, but the Longhorns were unable to find an offensive rhythm the rest of the way.

Brittany Chambers scored 24 points to lead K-State and dished eight assists.

Texas will travel to Lubbock to take on the Lady Raiders of Texas Tech on Sunday, Feb. 17.

POSTGAME NOTES

-Texas is now 13-12 all-time against Kansas State and 5-6 when playing in Manhattan ... the Longhorns surrendered 12 makes from behind the arc, tying for the most allowed in a single-game all-time ... Nneka Enemkpali posted her 11th double-double of the season, her third in five games, with 18 points (8-of-14 FG, 2-of-3 FT) and 13 rebounds to lead Texas in both categories ... Chassidy Fussell dished a team- and season-high four assists.

Opening Statement...
"I thought this was probably as lackluster of a performance from our team that I have seen definitely in conference play. I saw this a couple of times in non-conference play. We just played very lackluster and you cannot go into this type of arena, against a Kansas State team on their home court and have a lackluster performance. So credit to them, they showed up and they have continued to show a ton of character with all that they have had go on. We just did not show up and perform today, at all."

On the adjustment to the four guard line-up...
"We have played it and we actually played it against them the first time we played them. We just did not compete tonight at all. They were a million times more competitive than our team was."

On guarding Kansas State...
"They made three's and they shot them the last time. They are the kind of team that they can make a lot of them. They have had games where they have not made a lot. I just did not think that we had the kind of urgency that it takes to guard a team that shoots that kind of three's. They made a couple adjustments offensively to the fact that we had to switch some screens the last time we played them. Our connection was not good tonight. If you do not communicate against a team like that defensively then they can make you look really stupid. Like they made us look like tonight, credit to them they made shots. They played together and they were good today."
