Men's and Women's Basketball host canned food drive at Jan. 26 games

Not only are Texas Longhorns fans passionate and respectful, they are generous. Over the past six years at UT Athletics events, loyal UT fans have donated more than 20,000 pounds of food to the Central Texas community. UT Athletics is asking for its fans to step up once again. UT Athletics and Whataburger have teamed up to give fans the opportunity to fight hunger by donating non-perishable food items at the Texas Men's and Women's Basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 26th. Canned food items will be collected at the Women's Basketball vs. K-State game at 1 p.m. (presented by Bank of America) followed by the Men's Basketball vs. Texas Tech game (presented by Bank of America) at 7 p.m. Fans who donate five items at either game will receive a FREE Texas Sports DVD and a coupon for a FREE Whataburger. Collection will take place on the north plaza outside the Frank Erwin Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. for the women's game and 5:30 p.m. for the men's game. Fans must purchase a ticket to the game in order to receive the DVD and the coupon (offer based on availability). UT Athletics canned food drives are part of the Horns for Hope initiative for community enrichment.
