Right before the final 800, I knew I'd be able to win. To me that was the greatest and most memorable part of competing at the Texas Relays.

Good because I false started last year.

Men's 110m Hurdles Invitational

It was OK. I made a few errors with the wind because it was so strong. It was pushing me too close to the hurdles, which in the hurdles is not a good thing.

It feels really good. I just thank God. I always chill at the beginning of the race, but this time I tried to get out a little faster, but my finish was good, so I am happy with it.

Lane Dennis, ERI
On the win:
It felt good. I wanted a faster time but I couldn't with the wind. I got out good and I just had to stay patient and I came out fast and I brought it home. I'm happy with the win, I wanted a better time but I thank God. It felt great to do it in front of a big crowd.

I competed all right, I'm just glad to finally win again. My senior year in high school I set the record here so it's really good to win in the college division.

Men's Shot Put University Section A
Robert Golabek, University of Buffalo
On the win:
This atmosphere is unreal. You have got be insane not to come down here. With this many fans, you can't do anything but throw well. It feels really good. I was really excited to come down here. Normally this isn't a meet we come down to, being from Buffalo, New York. That's a pretty far trip for us. The weather down here is amazing. I want to thank Texas for putting together this event. The facilities are phenomenal. This is great.

Men's High Jump University
Erik Kynard, Kansas State
On the win:
The wind was killing me. The weather and the fans were beautiful. It was my first time here at the Texas Relays and I knew I least needed to jump to 2.20m.

On the win:
This is my first Texas Relays so honestly I'm just excited to be here. I've heard great things. It's awesome to be in front of the crowd. It's my first race back. I just moved to Austin so we're just trying to get the rust off and work on some things. It feels really good. Training is going really well and my kick was good and that was my focus today.

It feels good because I have been doubling every day this week. I ran Wednesday. I ran yesterday, and I'm running today in the 4x400, so it is just a mental game. I knew she was going to break when I got to the last hurdle, so I just kicked it through until the end.

It feels great because I was running from the start at first so I was kind of nervous but my coach told me I could do it so I tried to go out there and just try and get through all three stages. The wind was pretty strong so it was a bit of a problem for me to adjust. Sometimes it was hard and sometimes it wasn't. I was consistently behind on the board. The one time I got on the board I didn't finish the jump but overall it was a good day and I thank God for making me finish today.

I've come out here since I was a freshman, but I've always run the two mile. The wind wasn't the best condition for the two mile, so I decided to do the mile instead. It couldn't have worked out any better for me.

Boys High School Distance Medley Relay
Craig Lutz, Flower Mound Marcus
On the win:
It feels really good. It's the first time our school has ever won this race. For this weekend overall, it was good to get my fourth straight win in the two mile, and basically a state championship in the DMR. It was a good way to end the day.

Boys Shot Put High School
Jordan Roos, Celina
On the win:
I love throwing out here at the Texas Relays because you're right in the middle of the field. Everybody's kind of watching the shot ring. Usually at the little high school meets you go to you're at the back pasture out there and they'll mark a line of 40 feet and I'm throwing 60 feet so you don't know how far you're throwing. It was good because they run everything right and get the shots back to quick and everything's done right. I wish I would have had my last threw that would have been a new PR, but sometimes it happens that way. Hopefully I'll come out here and get it at state.

Girls 100 Meters High School
Stephanie Kalu, Ursaline Academy

It was a lot of fun. It was mostly a huge gift from God to come out here as kind of an underdog and to be able to pull it out at the end. It was fun. It was a blast. I loved it.

Girls Distance Medley Relay High School

On the win:
It was awesome. I'm so amazed by my team. We ran a really good race so it's exciting.

Girls Triple Jump High School
Brianna Richardson, Rockwall-Heath

I just wanted to try my hardest because I came last year and felt I was ready for it. I was really prepared so I thought I'd do really good. I'm very excited. I didn't think I was going to win. I was really nervous but I'm glad I won.

Girls Discus High School

Girls Shot Put High School
Brea Garrett, Arlington Martin
On the win:
I just came out here and I really wanted to throw hard because I fell in the hurdles yesterday and I was disappointed and was really upset and it just gave me the fire. I wasn't throwing real well. When I had my last throw I just could not let myself fail. I refused to let myself fail.
