Several former Texas athletes expected to compete at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas -- Nine former Texas Track & Field stars are expected to be among the list of competitors in the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays March 28-31.

Among the names probable are Alexandria Anderson, Nicole Denby, Trey Hardee, Jacob Hernandez, Andra Manson, Leonel Manzano, Raasin McIntosh, Kyle Miller and Sanya Richards.

Hardee, a two-time World Champion and 2005 NCAA Champion in the decathlon, leads the talented field. Hardee plans to compete in three events on the weekend, including the long jump and discus on Friday and the 110m hurdles on Saturday.

Richards is one of the top competitors on the women's side. A two-time Olympian and five-time NCAA champion, Richards plans to run the 100m dash on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Three former UT athletes will run in the 800m run at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Manzano, an Olympian in 2008 and five-time NCAA Champion leads the field. Hernandez was a three-time NCAA champion and Miller is also a former All-American.

The 2004 NCAA Champion and school-record holder in the high jump, Andra Manson, will compete in the same event at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Anderson will team up with Tiffany Townsend, Francene McCorory and Jessica Beard to run the 4x400m relay scheduled for 5:10 p.m. on Saturday. Anderson won two national championships at Texas in 2009 in the 100m and 4x400 relay.

Denby and McIntosh will each participate in hurdle events. Denby, the 2004 NCAA Champion, will run the 100m hurdles on Saturday at approximately 2:50 p.m. McIntosh, a three-time NCAA Champion in relay events, is penciled in for the 400m hurdles Saturday at 12:15 p.m.

The official lists of Invitational athletes for the Texas Relays will be released on Tuesday, March 27 at 12 noon.
