Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Urban Music Festival partner with State Farm

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and the Urban Music Festival have agreed to name State Farm Insurance the presenting sponsor for both events, the two organizations have announced. The agreement is for three years and will commence with the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (April 1-4, 2009) and the fourth annual Urban Music Festival (April 4, 2009). "State Farm is proud to partner with one of the most esteemed athletic events in Texas and the country, the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays," stated State Farm Texas Zone Agency Vice President Mike Hargis. Theo Bellmont, the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, which is hosted by The University of Texas, enters its 82nd year as one of the nation's most respected and tradition-rich track and field events. Hailed as the "greatest athletic event ever held in the Southwest" by the Austin American after the inaugural Relays in 1925, the Texas Relays has grown from hosting 350 athletes and 4,000 fans to hosting over 5,000 athletes and at least 20,000 fans. The Urban Music Festival (UMF), which is a product of the Urban Life Group, is an all-day, outdoor, family oriented event featuring live R&B music, food, vendors, KidCiti and social activities that will be held in the heart of Austin, along the banks of Town Lake at Auditorium Shores. Past headliners have included Chaka Khan, Ray Parker Jr., Ray J., After Seven, Sugar Hill Gang, Angie Stone, Mint Condition and many more. The 2009 lineup currently includes the most successful R&B male vocal group of all time -- Boys II Men. Joining them on stage will be the legends of funk -- Cameo! Rounding out the day on stage will be a complete line up of local and regional R&B, funk, neo soul and hip hop performers.
