Texas-Oklahoma Football wristbands distributed Oct. 5-6

Oct. 2, 2009

Only two weeks remain until the 2009 AT&T Red River Rivalry when Texas and Oklahoma square off at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. Longhorn All-Sports Package (LASP) holders who do not already have a ticket to the game can participate in the Oklahoma wristband distribution on Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6. Distribution begins at 9 a.m. each day at the student ticket office, located inside the Red McCombs Red Zone of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Enter through Gates 14 or 16 off 23rd Street.

Each LASP holder may receive one numbered wristband upon presentation of a valid UT student ID. Wristbands will only be distributed on Oct. 5-6. Check the Student Orange Bloods page Tuesday night after 5 p.m. for an announcement on the starting wristband number for Wednesday’s ticket draw. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, wristband holders will be lined up in order of their starting number and tickets can be purchased at $95 each, for as long as available. Each person with a valid wristband can purchase up to six tickets to the game with six valid UT student IDs that do not already have a ticket. For more information, call 512-471-3333.

This season marks the 104th time that Texas and Oklahoma have met on the gridiron with the Longhorns owning a 58-40-5 advantage in the series. Last year, No. 5 Texas defeated the top-ranked Sooners, 45-35, on Oct. 11, 2008, in a thrilling back-and-forth game. The Longhorns finally took command in the fourth quarter with 15 unanswered points. The victory propelled the Longhorns to a No. 1 ranking for the first time in the regular season since 1984.

We hope to see you at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 17 as the Longhorns look to retain the Golden Hat Trophy.
